Nawapong Unsuree has had a paper accepted for publication in 2D Materials. coming from a collaboration between the Echtermeyer group (Manchester) and the Parkinson group. The research was conducted in the National Graphene Institute and the Photon Science Institute.

Talk at UK Semiconductors 2019
Group PhD student Stefan Skalsky gave a talk at the UK Semiconductors meeting in Sheffield. His talk, on “Nanosecond lasing and mm-scale optical coherence length in GaAsP/GaAs Quantum-Well Nanowire Lasers” descibed his recent work using interferometric time-resolved spectroscopy to reveal the end-facet reflectivity in nanowire lasers.
PSI Seminar - Antonio Hurtado
The group welcomed Dr Antonio Hurtado of the University of Strathclyde Institute of Photonics to give a seminar at the Photon Science Institute. He spoke on Neuromorphic Photonics – the use of lasers as non-linear elements in a neuromorphic system.
Tim Crothers - PhD viva in Oxford
Patrick acted as external examiner for Tim Crothers, a student with Prof. Laura Herz in Physics at Oxford University. Tim defended his thesis on Charge-carrier transport and recombination dynamics in metal halide perovskites.
Tutorial Session at Jaszowiec 2019
Patrick gave a tutorial session at the Jaszowiec 2019 meeting – the International School and Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors – held in Szczyrk in Poland.
The session covered the use of ultrafast spectroscopy for developing nanotechnology for optoelectronics, and specifically semiconductor nanowires.

Patrick spoke and both Arturo and Stefan gave posters at the 2019 UK Semiconductor Nanowire Meeting, held at Corpus Christi College in Oxford. The event was chaired by Patrick and Michael Johnston (Oxford Physics), and it brought nearly 35 researchers from 10 universities together to discuss nanowire research in the
New Paper - Highly-Strained III-V-V Co-Axial Nanowire Quantum Wells with Strong Carrier Confinement
A new paper has been accepted for publication in ACS Nano. This work, led by Dr. Yunyan Zhang and Prof. Huiyun Liu at University College London, describes the growth and characterisation of quantum-well tube nanowires based on GaAs-GaAsP heterostructures.
This work brings together partners from UCL, Sheffield, Warwick, Lund (Sweden)
