It was great to have our group Christmas meal in Manchester which coincided with a celebration of Hoyeon’s thesis submission!
Group lunch
After over 18 months, we had a first “all-group” meeting and lunch in person. It’s been a long time, but great to all finally be back in the same place!
PhD Viva: Arturo
Arturo Alanis (the first PhD student of the group) had a successful PhD viva today. His thesis examiners were Dr Hannah Joyce (Cambridge) and Dr Jessica Boland (Manchester).
Arturo has already secured a postdoctoral position to start in a few weeks; we’ll be sad to see him go, but
