Graduation
Congratulations to first group PhD student Juan (Arturo), who managed to graduate today. Having passed his viva in March 2020, it was a long wait to return to Manchester. He is now working with Synaptec in Glasgow.
Group Research Planning day
The group met to discuss research planning and objectives for the next 6 months – our second all-team in-person meeting.
Funded PhD position with A*STAR
The group is now advertising for a funded PhD position as part of the A*STAR ARAP scheme, in collaboration with Kedar Hippalgaonkar of A*STAR and NTU in Singapore. The group welcomes Dr. Stefan Skalsky to the group as a short-term postdoctoral researcher. He will lead a pump-prime project on integrating single photon spectroscopy to near-field microscopy as part of a UMRI-funded project with Jessica Boland.
