Patrick gave an invited talk at ISSON, Canberra. This meeting was arranged to celebrate the retirement of Prof. Chennupati Jagadish, and drew over 70 speakers and 150 attendees to Canberra to speak about semiconductor optoelectronics.

Patrick gave an invited talk at CIMTEC 2024 in Montecatini Terme (Italy) in June. The talk on "High-throughput spectroscopic characterization of nanowire-based quantum structure" was delivered to the "Quantum dot and dopant-based qubits" session of the meeting.
Invited talk at IUMRS ICAM-ICMAT 2023, Singapore
Group PI Patrick was invited to give a talk at the International Union of Materials Research Society meeting in Singapore. The talk, entitled 'Semiconductor Optimization Using Functional Inhomogeneity: High-Throughput Characterization for Semiconductor Nano-Lasers' reviewed recent work from the group to optimize nanolasers.

Patrick gave a remote invited talk in the Low Dimensional Materials and Devices session of SPIE 2021, hybrid hosted in San Diego.
He spoke about “High-throughput spectroscopy of semiconductor nanowires in the presence of inhomogeneity“ including new material from group members.

Patrick gave an invited talk at a virtual Compound Semiconductor Week 2021 (nominally in Stockholm) on “A needle in a needlestack – exploiting functional inhomogeneity as a tool for optimized nanooptoelectronics“. This opened the B2 session “Nanowire growth and characterization“.
