Quick, personal update: I've been promoted to Professor of Applied Physics at Manchester.

I wrote recently about judging a portfolio-of-one - the difficulty of applying commensurable metrics to an incommensurable career. It's a strange thing to submit yourself to the exact process you've just spent a blog post critiquing!

I have huge gratitude to the amazing network of people who shaped the science and the strategy along the way, most of whom already know who they are. And a note to self - the MBA isn't finished yet, so the homework doesn't stop just because the title changed.
