IBM Hartree Seminar Patrick was invited by fellow FLF, Eloisa Bentivegna, to give an IBM Hartree seminar. It was great to speak with IBM researchers and research leaders on a sunny Cheshire afternoon.
Invited Seminar: University of Nottingham Patrick gave a seminar at the University of Nottingham, invited by Dr George Gordon.
Seminar at IMRE Singapore Patrick visited IMRE/A*STAR in Singapore to give an invited institute seminar. While there, he caught up with Mihir Athavale, who is based with Prof Kedar Hippalgaonkar on an exchange programme.
Visit and seminar: Australian National University As part of a planned visit to the Australian National University Electronic Materials Engineering group, Patrick gave a joint seminar with Hannah Joyce (Cambridge Engineering) to project partners.
Group Seminar: Aruni Fonseka, Warwick Electron Microscopy Dr Aruni Foseka of the Warwick Electron Microscopy Centre gave a seminar to the group and colleagues at the Photon Science Institute. Her talk covered electron microscopy techniques for nanomaterial characterisation, including dark-field and spectroscopic approaches.
Seminar : LIV.DAT Patrick gave a virtual seminar at Liverpool Big Data Science Centre for Doctoral Training (LIV.DAT) on “Big-data for nano-electronics“. Thanks to Prof. Carsten Welsch for the invitation!
Seminar at the University of Sheffield Patrick gave a seminar at the University of Sheffield, where he was kindly hosted by Dr Jenny Clark of the Department of Physics and the Sheffield Laser Lab. He spoke about exploiting functional inhomogeneity for optimizing nano-optoelectronics, and learnt a lot about ultrafast spectroscopy for singlet fission.
University of Oxford Condensed Matter Physics Seminar Patrick gave the Oxford Condensed Matter Physics seminar on A needle in a needlestack – exploiting functional inhomogeneity for optimized nano-optoelectronics. In this talk, he presented on recent advances in using high-throughput spectroscopy to study nanowires for optoelectronic applications.
