New Publication – Direct laser write process for 3D conductive carbon circuits in polyimide

Bryce Dorin has had a paper accepted for publication in the Journal of Materials Chemistry C, on Direct laser write process for 3D conductive carbon circuits in polyimide.

Picture1Using a femtosecond direct-laser-writing technique, Bryce demonstrated 3D writing of conductive pathways in polyimide, a stable insulating material. Through optical and processing optimization, he was able to contact a single Ag nanowire embedded within a solid (at a polyimide/Epoxy interface), providing the possibility for electrical contacting of single nano-objects embedded with a protective solid.

He is now developing this technique to make contact to randomly dispersed active electronic devices.
